ABOUT
Meet the Founder
I'm Emma. Holistic facialist, 16 years in the beauty industry, and founder of Slow Skin Co.
I was in the mainstream beauty industry for 9 years before I found my passion in sustainable, eco-friendly beauty.
After experiencing my own health issues, I started looking more closely at the products I was using every day. The more I learned about the impact of toxins, the more I knew I wanted to do things differently with my nutrition and the skincare and beauty products I used at work.
I'm also well aware about the lack of regulations around the beauty industry. Product labels don't always tell the whole story, and terms like "natural", "clean" and "eco-friendly" can be used without much meaning behind them. It can be difficult to know which products are genuinely better for you and the planet.
That's where Slow Skin Co was born.
I'm passionate about creating beautiful results without compromising on your health or the planet. I carefully choose natural, low-tox, cruelty-free and eco-conscious products, while keeping waste and our environmental impact as low as possible.
I don’t want you to throw everything you own in the bin or chasing perfection. Just keep an open mind, learn what's in the products we use, and making more conscious choices: one treatment at a time.

Sustainability
I’m conscious of everything I bring into the salon and the impact it has on the environment. That means choosing natural, eco-conscious, cruelty-free products made locally in Australia, while looking for ways to reduce waste wherever possible. When I first set up the salon, I upcycled as much furniture as I could and worked to reduce disposable items. I choose compostable alternatives for when single-use items are necessary.
I believe in supporting businesses that have a genuine purpose and are doing their part to create positive change. For me, sustainable beauty is about continually looking for better ways to do things.
